Got an 066 with new piston. Previous owner replaced piston. Not sure if it is oem or aftermarket.about a half dozen tanks on piston. 3/4 wrap handle with scrench holder. Dual large spikes. Not a beauty queen but a great runner. Pulls 28" 404 full comp no problem. Powerhead only. Choice of 3/8 or 404 sprocket. Asking 600 plus shipping. Open to trades as well.

pics of the cylinder?
looks like a redlight tank handle with upgraded HD style air filter and cover and a modified top cover to accept a replacement cylinder with a decompression valve
thanks

You want to see what kind of cylinder it has, I am 99.9994879% sure it isn't original as the red lights had a no decomp cylinder, but if the jug says Stihl or Mahle or has a strange K and S printed over each other then it is an OEM jug which is better for value than an aftermarket jug.
The wrap handle is a plus for value and the clear tank is nice as well, pro style big spikes.

get a nice clear picture of the muffler if it has dual or triple ports that is more $ as well
and a shot of the bottom of the saw usually is a great indicator of overall amount of usage and care taken of the saw by prior owners
when selling bigger saws the more pics the better :)
good luck with the sale, I need another saw like I need herpes but that doesnt mean I wont be looking :)

I'll clean saw up tomorrow and get more pics. Cylinder has scuffs from honing I think. Piston looks ok. I can see machine marks on it still. I'll get clear pics of cylinder.

Not that the point of this thread is to analyze the subject, but my money says aftermarket tank housing to match what I believe is an aftermarket fan housing. That's a really white tank housing and a very clear tank for a saw as old as a Red Light...

If I remember correctly the guy put the saw together using some spare saw parts he had around. Don't know what happened to original saw though. It runs fantastic I can say. Pulls my 404 bars with authority. Don't believe it's ported though. My stock 660 couldn't keep up with it cut for cut.

I think aluminum. I'll pull recoil in morning to verify and get more pics.

No worries blackjack - I don't mean to mislead you about me being a potential buyer - just trying to help figure out what exactly you have there. How they run is what really matters, so if someone is looking for a strong worksaw I'm sure what you have will cure what ails them!

That could absolutely be. I'm certainly not very well versed on aftermarket parts. Just looks a little too white to me for the vintage. If the buyer or seller does happen to care that would be a very easy question to answer.

Stihl cylinder and piston still has machine marks. Slight scratches on cylinder. Dont have a compression gauge but pulls over strong. Fires right up. Ready to cut. Aluminum flywheel. Dual port muffler.

Not calling you a lier but looks like a NWP P&C. The rings on the piston kinda give it away for me as I have a 044 NWP piston sitting in my toolbox with the same looking rings.

Stihl cylinders usually arnt painted black unless it was done by the owner. But I looked for a tolerance stamp (A or B) on your cylinder and don't see any markings.

No problem. I'd pull the jug and find out. AM cylinders make a big difference in price.

I can't buy anything from the states right now based on our dollar conversion :(
