There's really not a lot of meat here to deal with. I can't drill holes and use wire to strengthen it or anything. I have another type of Loctite glue I will try.

I would drill 2 or 3 small holes and insert some steel wire when you glue it. Not sure what you found that is as strong as the PL Premium, but let us know how you make out.

It would not surprise me if PL Premium did not make it stronger than it previously was. If I were really worried about it, I would also drill a few holes and insert some wire with the glue, and it will never come apart.

As my one Carpenter friend told me "Once you use it, you will throw away your Crazy Glue and your Gorilla Glue, you will use it on everything"

My dad was a carpenter and put liqiud nail on everything
