Is this junk, or salvageable? I don't see any damage to the cylinder wall above the ports, so I'd consider it salvageable.

Looks like early aftermarket with an exploded pin bearing. Some of the early AM jugs had very good porting. It might be worth timing it. I have a 066 56mm AM jug that’s a direct KS copy. Even has the KS emblem.

Looks like a candidate for a first porting attempt. Fingers or bridges maybe?

That’s true. However, as long as the transfer wall at the gouges isn’t broken, and it all the high spots are honed down, I doubt there will be discernible performance lost. Maybe the porting looks worse in person, but that beats any aftermarket cylinder I’ve seen.
