056 mag ignition issues

Just totally rebuilt an 056 mag. Got as non running, had a bad crank. Got all back together now have no spark. It has the bosch ignition setup. Question is the ignition plate is slotted for adjustment, is it possible it could just be out of whack there? I set the plate center of the slots.

I tore the saw back down this morning and tried everything i can think of. I have a dead coil. So question is should i convert to sem or back to points as the used crank i had has the points lobe ground on it?

Points setup from an 041 would be the easiest since your crank has the points lobe. I revived mine using an 041 coil with a nova cell trigger. Had to elongate the slots on the plate a lot to achieve proper timing.

Keep in mind that if you have the solid-state flywheel (magnet structure), and you want to switch to points, you'll need to find the points flywheel/magnet structure. The
two flywheels/magnet structures are not interchangeable.

So really goin to an 041 ignition plate and flywheel, then using a nova chip to convert the points seems to be the most cost effective. The SEM modules are prone to failure also arent they?

Do i need an 041 flywheel or a 045 points style flywheel?

There is a bosch coil fix, Its a capacitor what you need to replace.

Quick question, sagenspezi has a ignition plate, that specifies suitable for electronic bosch ignitions on 045's 056's. Would that work? Has anyone delt with this outfit or this particular part?

Saegenspezi replacement is the Same as a 041 coil with nova. Sometimes you need to advance the flywheel or slot the coil plate for proper timing setup.
