The wiseco 272 piston has 42mm wide skirts. It took 2 normal base gaskets and one of the low compression ones to clear squish. No machine work and it's pretty impressive.

Yes and a 460 wrist pin or we can get a Dominant titanium for another 4-5 grams of weight savings

Meteor pin is definately heavier

Here is the Hyway kited 046 tuned fat at 14000 in some filthy hard dry timber
Semi chisel work chain and 7 tooth
No machine work, just corrected the intake, flattened the exhaust roof and removed a couple nasty casting bumps in the transfer tunnels
It's really strong

How wide are the skirts on the hoosky compared to the 046?

They're actually exactly the same. The hoosky piston is taller, so it creates the illusion that they are narrower.

Interestingly, the pin bosses are set further apart in the 272 vs the 046 slug, but the wrist pin bearings are the same width. I thought this would be like a 10mm Meteor issue, but it doesn't appear to be. I only have an 272 HL piston to measure off of, so my casting may be off for all I know.

I've certainly got some more measuring to do.

The meteor pin is much heavier. The OEM vs. Meteor pins are also different lengths. Not sure you can just interchange.

I can't find a lot of my pics, but my scale showed different numbers.

Less precise than what Mike's scale is. I can't find my jeweler scale.

The used piston is OEM with no pin. The meteor is obvious. No circlips though.

There's 2 places to get 272 pistons that I know of. Maybe a 3rd. I haven't asked him.
