Scored myself a free 044 recently, had a very bad clunk in it and assumed the worst.

Unfortunately my assumptions were correct, big end is well and truely toast.

Now from my searching I cant seem to find a 10mm aftermarket crankshaft, so am I just going to have to sweat and wait until I find a genuine used one pop up and score it? Or is there another route to go down?

Cheers

I'd say search for a good used oem crank.
Can't comment on the aftermarket units, I've never used one before.

Find another parts saw and mix and match parts. I do it all the time. I try to get every 044/046 carcass I can that's cheap. No matter the condition.

Hey BA if you can wait till next weekend I can check and make sure I have one. Have mine in rebuild stage and got a bunch of parts left. Pretty sure I have a usable 10mm crank! Currently on a beach where a hurricane blew through last week. Be home Saturday evening.
