I love em'..but they are absolutely pathetic bone stock, I'd say of all the saws I've had a muffler mod made the biggest difference on a 361, .. it felt like a sewing machine prior to that.
Absolutey. Was on the verge of selling mine then i gilled the side of the muffler and now it ain't going anywhere. Want to see what a gasket delete and a popup would get.

I knew "ported" saws would make it to this conversation, which 99% of saw operators dont run.

Stock for stock a 562 absolutely clobbers an 036.

I've had a couple of both.

excellent post thanks for the info I don't have much experience with the 60cc class in stock form.
For me the strongest 60cc saw I have ran is actually a dolmar ps 6100 that mastermind did for me. he did a comparison video with my 6100 and some of the other saws in that class these were all his ported saws in the same wood so it was a great comparison. I will try to post that thread link for anyone interested in the ported comparison

I’d like to run a ported 6100 more, the stock one I had wasn’t that impressive. Wasn’t any faster than a 357xp I compared it to.

opeforum.com/threads/60cc-shoot-out.4009/

there was another thread too not sure if this one had my 6100 in it I know the other thread did.
in any case a ported 6100 is really strong for 60cc class saw and it will cut fast cookies too. going to larger stuff 24 or bigger and for the 60cc class my money would be on the 6100 for sure.

Gasket deletes were a no go on the ones I've had..get the base cut with a muffler mod and a timing bump and those saws rip.

No go? I thought you just cut a popup...case interferance? Squish is about .025 stock 175psi.

My 361 has a base delete/ muff mod / timing advance/ 039 carb modded to fit / 460 oiler woods ported intake and exhaust / i also took the plastic horn off and cut down and up and cut it off so she pulls more air instead of thru those little green windows

I kinda think a 462 is gonna just make 60cc saws irrelevant in their current state...other than price of course.
Saw the first advertisement for one today, 12900kr with heta, about 1600 bucks. A 562xpg is 8000kr only about a grand...

No
Much smarter and more experienced guys than myself have gone through all of the headaches trying to run no gasket.
I have yet to read or hear of anything other than speculation. Some say the case is uneven, some say after the base is machined thinner, some say they just break.

I guess price will matter but if you can get the more power out of the same sized saw why the hell not...we'll see what it costs when it lands here.
That's the way I think and one reason I've stayed with the Swedes. I went to buy a ms261 when they first came out & found it to be the same size as a 357xp, said WTF... This new Stihl might be interesting, if it's well under a grand.

441 is over a grand on the sticker, I can't see this 462 being any cheaper..
