Not to skew off the 025 but a general observation of the 020/MS 200 T .Generally speaking in 8" poplar cants it's 15 seconds for two cuts .Kevin(Cut for fun) and I were in the low 11 second times .This BTW was both running 6 pins and semi chisel chain because rapid super wasn't made at that time . I'd say with chisel and a 7 pin that time could be cut by maybe a second .
I've never seen any 180's in operation .The only ones I've seen were in a dealers dead pile .---again nothing is impossible ----

Mini, small or standard rim?

Looks like a standard spline for a bigger saw. Piltz is selling them. I believe I have a small spline on the MS251. The 034 I used to have had a smaller, or mini spline.

Anyway, I found an 8 pin rim in my parts, so the 025 is 8 pin and the MS251 is now 8 pin. The 8 pin on the 025 pulls it down out of the pipe's powerband. Now I need to put the 7 pin back on and make sure that is the issue (made more than one change at a time...). Or search for some more power??

Put a new oil pump in the 025 because it wasn't oiling as well as the 251. Seems to be working better now.

On the topic of chains, would I be better off trying to run 3/8 full skip square chisel on the same length bar?

No skip. Go square.

I also need to remove the muffler that I added to the pipe. It lost noise, and power...

3/8lp 7p kit. rim drum bearing. 9.99
3/8lp 050 cross 16" with a loop 24.00
This can be geared up to 8 or 9 pin.

This should be faster than regular 3/8.

After studying the video a bit, I'm thinking that the volume of sawdust is overwhelming the clutch cover. I'll see if it can be opened up a little without making it any uglier.

Do you have a video of that saw running with the ported clutch cover?

Dub your oh 26 has alot left on the table with that super safe tune. Is it one of docs real early saws with monster compression that leans out as it gets hot?

It's the new recipe. And that's a video from the first tank.

Vid with the modified cover. No other changes, same wood, just from the opposite side to see the chips flyin'. Does it clear them better? You make the call...

When the chain gets up past a certain speed it starts collecting enough sawdust behind the sprocket for the teeth to start pulling chips back into the kerf on top. What you did will help relieve that.

Wakey wakey old thread. I put some header wrap on the pipe and put the long stinger back on. Chain could be sharper. I was bucking firewood with it earlier.

I'm thinking I went the wrong way with timing. It is currently advanced. I think it should be normal or possibly a few degrees retarded, yes?

Picked up this intake and carb from a swap meet to try out on the saw.

Couldn't fit the filter so I used pantyhose for testing.

Overall; meh. It didn't add anything with the stock carb, so oem intake with nylon filter went back on. Currently waiting on another flywheel to play with timing.
