Does anyone kno da trick to putting in the individual crank -rod bearings and keeping them in whilst setting the damn jug on da piston?

Thought Id help a guy at work out.
Now Im bout to say fk,it.....

A bit of grease to stick them in place, then be careful! What a pain, first time I took one apart I had no idea and the rod slid to the side and then I heard the roller bearings splash in the case. A sound I will never forget.

Made a holder out of a strip of copper sheet.

Used it to stick about half the rollers in place. Slid it off to the side and used a wide rubber band (cut) held with a small surgeon's clamp.

Loaded the remaining rollers. Slide the rod over the rollers pushing the rubber band aside with the rod big end.

Carefully turn crank to BDC and lock it there.

Yeah, I've heard that noise myself. Pretty much hear it, realize what's taking place and then that doh moment.

stihl makes a tool that keeps the rod from sliding off while removing crank etc
