I have tried the loose piles in my area and while the wood does dry eventually, stacked covered rows dry significantly faster and more even but I think you can get different results depending on your area.

Never ran a 462 but I have ran a 400 a fair amount. To me the 400 is a good 20inch bar saw but I could never get over the sloppy AV. I believe you once compared the 400’s AV to a floppy dildo, is the 462 any better?
