Jacked the trailer up and checked the wheel bearings. All good.
No need to do any actual fishing after that success.

Mine just got a new axle and tires. Tires were wearing out on the inside tread. Still need to bleed the brakes.

Been using Arkie 350 crankbaits. First time ever trolling crankbaits was Monday. Didn’t catch as many but the ones I did have been some toads!
I use flicker shad since I was getting them cheap whenever Scheels would have a sale. Arkies look to have about the same dive curve to them as the number 7. I usually start 4 colors and then change/refine as to what they want. Nice easy lazy fishing that allows you to cover a fair amount of water. I have some cheaper shallow baits that I started with running downriggers as well. Usually this time of year I am jigging brush as the days get cooler.

I’m envious of the nice crappie population you have. Most of our lakes have been fished hard for the past 20 years and the fish number show it.
Some of these lakes as well. Guides are not helping anything though, catching their limit as well as their clients and sending the fish with the client as possession limit. Do that three or four times a day and it kills the population. It takes about three to three and a half years for a crappie to reach the 10" length limit most lakes have in the area. Any idea as to the growth rate for your lake systems? The use of live scope for paddlefish is a big game changer in this area now. Guides are using it to guarantee fish now days, just by picking out the biggest ones in the population if they so decide. Many of the newer guides couldn't survive without it, they are totally dependent on it since they never learned to fish first.
