It looks like it traveled down caught the ring and pinched the chunk in the squish on the next up stoke. Two gouges in the wall but no transfer.

Just curious your two cent s on the failure here. There’s the first signs of discoloration of the rod at the top of the it. This is the third rebuild of a massively abused saw. No crank play on either side. Didn’t vac before tear down.

Yes it went through a complete tear down. I’ve landed on new gaskets in the carb and doing crank seals. Cheap insurance.

Post proper reset and half a tank cutting with 40:1 canned fuel. Seems like the problem is reduced but you can hear the slight lean hesitation when it comes off idle, or I’m crazy and hearing something. It was much worse before reset.
