YouTube Account Terminations...Possible Fix???

I uploaded a video using the standard YouTube app on my phone yesterday. Noticed this new (too me) advisory message at the top of the screen.



So as it states I downloaded the YouTube Studio app to set the audience of my videos. Once you’re in the Studio app here’s what you have to do...

Tap the menu bars here



Then tap videos



You should see a list of all your uploaded content, select a video then tap the pencil icon...

Next tap on the video settings icon



Now tap to access the audience drop down menu and select one of the options. I set all my videos to “not made for kids” because kids are not my target audience. It’s not a matter of being appropriate for kids, it’s a matter of targeted audience.



Hope this helps curtail the rash of accounts getting shut down for non compliance with YouTube user agreements. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t but I thought it might be worth sharing as I just noticed that this has to be done. I went through and set the audience for all my videos. Pain right in the crack but worth it if I don’t lose all my videos.

I noticed that I have most all of my newer vids not set to public view. Maybe that has something to do with it too???
I have not been struck yet...
But I also started the modification to viewer stuff.

For guys who want to change the setting on all of the videos at once (your whole channel).
Note I did this on my computer, not an app.
Go to: the youtube studio button near the top right
next: click the settings tab at the lower left edge of the page
next: click the channel tab at the lower left side of the page
next: click the advanced setting tab at the top center area of the page
next: click " NO, Set this Channel as Not Made for Kids
finally: click SAVE at the bottom right of the page

this sets your whole channel as not made for kids without having to go through and change the settings on hundreds of chainsaw videos one at a time

Be nice if they would’ve made it a little bit simpler, if this is what is actually causing the accounts to be dropped. I tried for two hours last night and I couldn’t find any option like that. Something like that should be in the main menu if it were worthy of closing your account down. But I followed your instructions and did the same thing. Thanks for the tutorial Josh
