I understand the point about touching your rakers .I saw this video.
Honestly, most brand new stihl chains I’ve never touched the rakers and out they cut good to me
I just don’t know enough
I had guys that came into the store to buy chains and that is what they did before they used them, filed the depth gauges all the way down and then just went full on after that. I guess it is like driving without a seat belt, very fun until it isn't...
I dunno, this is what I do when I put a new chain on. In fact, I just did it last night on a new X Cut chain I just put on my new XS 550XP! I don't like how brand new chains cut out of the box.
