Please help me as I'm trying to determine when was 1/2", 9/16", and 5/8" chain discontinued? Basically a timeline on these pitch chains would be appreciated.

1/2" chipper was still selling into the 1980's. The other two were going out in the 1970's.

But all 3 plus 3/4" were still in the 1968 Oregon catalog.

Hey wouldn't this chisel chain in either 9/16" or 5/8" pitch make a great hotsaw chain!
Make the Stihl 46RST high tooth look like a toy.
There has to be some of this chain out there. Any collectors know of any?

Lots of rumors I hear about a new Oregon blue tooth chisel harvester chain.
Would this chain be the new 19HX chamfer chisel chain?
It's still a chamfer semi chisel .

I have a loop of 5/8 chisel that is better than half worn out. It came with on a 990g Homie I also have a 5/8 gear for a Mac 890. 5/8 of anything seems hard to get.

I dunno if there is an .063 .404 full chisel harvester chain.

^^Thats interesting....right NOW I can buy a full roll of Carlton 3/4" chain for USD-$354! Or loops in many sizes. Carlton must still be producing it for Harvestor bars. I wonder if you can get large spline saw sprockets in 3/4"? My guess is semi chisel is the Harvestor chain of choice but I wonder if they do full chisel chain? Willard might like some for his new bikesaw projects.

Sawfun if you could post a photo of that 5/8 chain next to a 3/8 or .404 for comparison would greatly be appreciated.

Ive heard of dealers throwing rolls of these beautiful old chains in the landfill.
If I could find a few loops I'd go to the trouble getting a sprocket built.

Ok, I'll work on getting a photo posted. 5/8 looks very much like and could be mistaken for 3/4, and not at all like 9/16, which can be mistaken for 1/2.

I did find some harvester bars/chains for my CR250R/CR500R bikesaw projects.
It's the new Oregon 65hp rated 19HX .404 .080 chamfer chisel harvester chain.
Also bought 3 bars in 28" 25" and 22". The 22" was back ordered and will here next week.
These b/c are for tuning and practice use only but I'm sure they'll still rip just the same. Especially on a 60hp bikesaw.

4th pic compares the 19HX to the older Stihl .063 .404 harvester chain.
