Good grief. Might as well salvage what I can. Do y’all grind the flat part off this vanguard raker to use it?
Edit: chain came on a saw I flipped years ago. I’m bored during these covid times so I broke it out.

Looks like that saw sat unused in an equipment trailer gathering dirt.
The owner walked over to it laying clutch side down in the earth and pulled it OUT. I never even saw it until he reached down and grabbed it. Has been here for “years” he says. Something about the chain brake, left it where it quit. See what you can do!
The fellow operates a sawmill and gives me logs whenever I ask. This is all at no charge to him. image.jpg
Sarcasm is how I hug and when he handed me the saw I let it slip about how he must’ve thought a lot of the saw. He laughed and agreed it was a good one, right up until it quit.

Attempting to revive another maintenance free battery. This ones out of my girls push mower.
And also changed the oil in it. Needs a good cleaning. Had it all ready for winter storage and had a last minute lawn cutting last fall and never cleaned them again.

Mine is next but probly tomorrow.

So i think that battery is junk but i have a question about battery chargers. I checked the volts with mutimeter and only had 9 volts with charger on it. Thought that was odd. Unhooked charger from battery and checked volts from charger and still 9 volts. Thought maybe my charger was junk.
Hook charger up to know good battery that was reading 12.2 v. Befor charger. With charger was reading 12.5 v. So why does charger have to be hooked up to a (good) battery to read propper?

I was talking to my interstate battery rep. He stated that some batteries take a special charger to charge battery. He gave a optima battery as an example he also said that if you had a dead optima battery and a good charged optima battery you can hook charger to good battery and good battery to dead battery to charge it. I don’t know the truth behinds it. I also had to buy the required battery charger made by tender

Not quite on the bench but have used the tailgate as one.
My new aircompressor. I got a deal on it cause it took a spill. All was fixed but ther is a small crack thats leaking in the tubing where the guages and outlets hook into.
Im debating on maybe just atempting to rebuild my own from scratch. Be more solid in the ling run.
And the air pressure kick off switch leaked when it builds up pressure soninput the one off my old compressor on it.

A little Dolmar PS-400 made its way to my bench. Had a cracked fuel cap, so the owner gave it to me. The caps from the 7900 fit, so that was an easy fix. Did a little muffler mod and a carb tune, and it seems quite snappy. Very light little saw. Mag cases and all. It does need a piston, but I believe I already have a source for that.
