Shipped a nice 346 to my buddy. Boxed up real tight and packed well.

He gets it , and a piece holding the lower handle, part of the crankcase, is broken off!!!

No holes in the box, I did insure it for 500 bucks.

Going there tomorrow to ask what to do. Anyone ever have this happen???

I have had very expensive bonsai trees and pots broke by USPS. They always try to give you half of the insured amount and want to see proof of what was paid for it.
They will contact your buddy as well, he shouldn't tell them ANYTHING! Except to talk to you about it.

That shouldn't be too hard to prove the value of the saw, half is better than nothing!!

Kinda hard to show a receipt for a plant you grew!!

Had that thing running great with a 359 carb set up, muffler mod and everything tweaked perfectly, from now on 2" of styrofoam all around entire saw

Was it in the box you shipped it in?

Some fed ex employee snagged a echo out of a box and taped it all back up. Showed up less saw. That sucked. Took a bit for the seller to get reimbursed.

Man, that is some really rough handling, not sure how a saw could make it thru some of that

Especially at this time of year, the surge in volume the small package shippers handle during the holidays is astronomical. To think anything gets handled with kid gloves is just lying to yourself.

I'm a warehouse manager in real life and we ship a lot of UPS and FedEx packages. Claims for damaged or missing goods easily triple from October to January. I always cringe when the big brown truck backs up to our dock and easily 2/3's of every load is crushed, ripped, bashed up in some way.

To them, it's just business as usual. Even with insurance, they do their best to avoid claims.
