Sorry but I have sinned. I have been Stihl for ever, to me mixing Homelite, Macs, and Jonsereds, was ok but a Husky. YUCK. Well they are beautiful. Stihl I know, homies and Macs are collection pieces. This will need work, brand new unfired from dealer. Compared to a 660 what needs to be Done? Can squish be lowered, muff mod, what is carb like? All new to me and it's -30 deg here I can figure it out but would rather be warm by fire and talk.

I went out idled a bit after I could feel some heat on frozen hand gave it a slight rev. Around 0 in shop, burr. Seems like a 660 but lighter, it's a dog. When I unthaw will check squish. How open are the mufflers?

Never Modded one guys. Got a friends 394 up and running with simple tune and part swap, never really dug into a husky. So I'm dumb. It's gonna get cut up so play along if you would. Please

Yes. And he's a great friend, but id rather pay him 300 to learn since I'm not a buisness. Then when I F it up pay him again to fix. Lol.

Is it under warranty? You might run a few tanks through it to make sure nothing bad passed QC before you void it.

I did a MM, BG delete on my 394 and it runs good. Not the same saw but close. What made you take the plunge on a husky? Good price?

That's definitely the attitude you need when it comes to modding saws, you can't be afraid to dive right in.

Some add a second outlet on the muffler right in front of the original, or weld a tube off the front corner. There's a pipe inside there that's a *b-word to cut loose, but if you do it you can go with just enlarging the original outlet.
Measure squish to see how much room you're working with and that'll tell you what you can do with the gasket. I can't remember off top off my head what the measurements are, but .020"-.025" is a good place to be.

Not according to those numbers. I'll do comp in a few this cold new rings may be off. But .050 squish. 660 can't even be gasket deleted in most cases.

Admire the air cleaner setup. What a pain in the as* but looks like a better design than a Stihl.
