I should have added that the squish on a big bore like this doesn't need to be down to .020"-.025", it's just that you want no less than that. It'll make all the power you're after with .035-.040.
Yep, .030-.035 is right where they usually fall with a BG delete and they run just fine there.

Now my 394 with base and squish cut and .020 squish pulls 210psi cold and is quite strong.

You can also clamp a razor blade in a part of small vice grips, heat the blade, and shave the limiting ears right off the limiters for full adjustability. That's what I usually do. But some newer stuff isn't as simple as that and not sure what current 395 has for limiters.

Your 395 will not be capable of spinning high enough RPM to endanger itself with those basic mods so long as you are tuned properly.

I put a second large outlet ahead of the factory outlet on my 394 muffler. Sorry about the high gloss paint making it hard to see, it was all I had on hand at that time and it was 2:00 in the morning when I did it. View attachment 104021 View attachment 104022

I ain't getting any help today yet. Yes I'm trying to rape a first fired saw. No race today. I'm used to cold and would still do vid for you guys alone. Is it ok to break in a new saw at -30 wind?
I don't have a clue bud but I'd say as long as you fire it up and let it warm up good before you cut it should be fine.

I said hell with break in. Let's go. Back in for warm up. They are simple creechers just different. Like stated after top handle, looks like 8 bolts and the 2 carb hoses and the muff, jug, and carb come off
When you put back together it’s much easier to have the intake tract mounted on the cylinder than to try putting it on after you bolt the cylinder to cases.
