got this old 385xp going again. found out it needs a off switch and a new tank vent/connector fitted in (leaked gas). but it did run well. 150 psi compression rating..
but
seems to be making a lot chattering noise on the flywheel side of the saw. listened at the clutch side not as noisy as the flywheel side/top end. check for loose screws/anything hitting the flywheel..nothing.
no play on the bearings either side as far as i could tell, maybe i missed something inside, maybe to much clearance on the cylinder i sanded, piston slapping? dont know.

anyone have any videos of a saw running with piston slap?
or any other ideas would be helpful as well.

Yes, troubleshooting the idle tick.
I’d never seen one that bad before.
New piston and she was right again.

tax returns are coming so ill probably throw a new 390 kit on top.
there easier to find than a 54mm oem piston plus only 60bucks more.

Bone stock I'd take the 385 top end over the 390.

If you go with a new 390 kit I'll take that 385 cylinder off your hands.
