It was the 3.5 cubic inch model of the 10-10 of which BTW I own one most likely from the last year of production .It had sat nearly unused after the tree trimmer who originally purchased it fell upon bad health .He also had a 700 that got "needled" that I used parts from to rebuild another ,both freebies .

From my observation the "cinder blocks " can run with more internal damage than any saw I've ever seen .Usually caused by a faulty oil pump that clogs the screen and builds up hard carbon that chews away on the exhaust side of the piston .Try as I might I've never had success at rebuilding any McCulloch oil pumps .

I just revived a 55cc (PM605) version for a guy the other day. 18lbs. of yellow fury that'll probably never die. I actually kinda like em. Same with the Mini-Macs. Classics any way you wanna look at em; good, bad, or upside down.

I get a kick out of the comments on the PM 610's and like models ,timber bear 3.7 etc .They get a bad rap but you'd be surprised how many are still being used just people don't let the cat out of the bag they have one .Kind of like the old story of fat girls and mopeds .

I like things that are kind of heavy and overbuilt for what they are. Echo and Dolmar tend to use this philosophy.

I suspect this is a late PM700. It runs really strong.

As far as Al's statement on the 610 series of McCinder blocks; I've been keeping an eye out for one but they seem to go for $150 up here which is beyond my budget for one.

I've never had the opportunity to run one but most owners really like them. Weight's not much of an issue if you're just bucking firewood.

That's a good looking PM700 for sure!

I assume it was still under McCulloch ownership .I think it was around 1998 that the real McCulloch circled the drain .As far as the PM 610 many sell for less than 75 bucks ..There was a guy"Just David" on flea bay that tried to hype them up with sales talk and get them to fetch $400 but I'm not so certain how successful he was .They originally sold for Around $225 but later K Mart had them for $169. I bought 4 for others one year off flea bay and the most I think I paid 65 bucks .
I am storing the 610 I got for my son which also looks like a new one that had a bad coil .It was 30 bucks and I had 25 in a brand new coil at the time .So 55 bucks plus maybe 15 for shipping

I just received a 3720 today, 3.7 In³ Silver Eagle version of the 600 Series saws. Like the 650/655 is has the more conventional brake flag rather than the wrap around brake like so many of those model.

I also have two 10-10S saws down and waiting for a good going through. I will put these up for sale once I have them in proper working order.

I just finished up an SP60 today, not 100% original but not a bad looking saw and with new rings (piston and cylinder were in excellent condition) it has good compression already.

I'll put up some photos with a story in a few days.
