The last of the 026?

I picked up a 026 parts saw that has to be the last of the series. It has a 44mm bore, white tank vent, plastic handle, and S shaped 260 fuel line. I've never seen that fuel line on a saw with screw caps before.
Best of all, it still has the serial no. sticker on the front of the case. How many 026's have that low use?
The not so bad news, it has a tiny bit of transfer that should clean up easy. The really good news, it will be rebuilt into a saw worthy of keeping.
The brake handle sticker is dated 1994.

My 026 Pro was bought 12/99. Has that fuel line too. 44mm. Low use, but no sticker like yours. Cool find

Another thing I noticed is the angle of the oil cap guard built into the case changes. The early are a half moon. The later make a 45 angle like in my pic.

@Onan18 has the rarest I've seen.

He's got a Metal Badge PRO with decomp, the short vent you see on the above saw, screw in caps and clear tank. His also has the old style non decomp rear end.

026 was built up to 2001 until Stihl switched the models to the MS series then it became an MS260 with some changes to fuel caps and the like .

I have a late model in a box for rebuild.has a non decomp cylinder with the decomp top cover and black plastic plug.super low use saw and the main bearings were absolutely shot.

I have a pair, use them all the time, and both will be around for awhile. All it takes is about $1,250 to replace them both with a pair of new MS 261's.

Just like my 036 PRO that I picked up. I had to ask the guy what that was stuck on the saw. LOL
He said the UPC Stihl label. I drove over 2 hours to get it.

I also picked up a metal tag 026 with the plastic still on the metal tag. Extremely low use. Super nice saw.

026 = favorite all time saw (and I've had, "a few" different models) I have three runners and one needs TLC. I just sold (today) a really nice 028S but I like the 026 even better than that. I'll have one as long as I'm strong enough to pull the rope. (none of mine are the pro)
