My buddy and I were cutting firewood and the 266 hung right with the 272 until you got into a whopper of a log, then the 272 started to shine a little brighter. Not that the 266 couldn't handle it, not by any means. Most times I prefer cutting with the 266 myself. Even though I have the means to modify it, I have no interest in doing so, nice to have a stock saw once in a while. I have bigger, so...

266 seems to have a much better torque curve in my opinion

There's not many here either. I always assumed they must have been low production compared to a 268 or 272. Which is a shame.

Still a few around these parts pulling firewood duty. There was an old timer of a logger had four 266's in a rack in the back of his truck, not that long ago. That whole series from the 61 on up to 272 was popular here. I've yet to see a 262. Strange how that goes.

Year's ago
I ran mostly 272s and a few 268 don't remember 266s around much.
The guy's that have them keep them
And try to sell junk clapped out saw's.
The 2 series were always my favorite
288 in particular.
But the 372s have grown on me
I have 7 lol

@Czed Here's a first look at your 268XP. It's hot and humid out and I gave it a quick tune and cut. Think it needs a bit more fuel after running it. Seems like it wanted to go though, chain didn't seem to want to bite good either for me, so a pretty raw look at a first fire.
