I grabbed a few of the 44mm 026 slugs on a DOD deal.

I'll do a comparison vs. OEM vs. Meteor when I get them.

That MS360 piston above looks to have wider skirts. The meteor 036 slug and the meteor 046 slugs both have wider than OEM skirts.

While some pistons may be a bit heavier or lighter, I have found the biggest difference in weight is often in the piston pin. The AM pins are often not tapered like OEM. I use OEM pins whenever possible, but you must check size to ensure they are the same ... not always unfortunately!

Dang arm twisters lol
@RIDE-RED 350r is good at that;). Nothing wrong with having a builder sitting for a while, just lets you plan it all out. I STILL have to build my 281 but that 254 jumped ahead in the line because it needed less money to get it going.

No nothing wrong with it at all. I just get ready to hear it run and then it’s hard for me to slow down and chill out on them

Compare all of the dimensions between the Tecomec and OEM. Overall height, pin to crown heights, skirt width, etc.
I can put up the dimensions on the new one but I don’t have an oem to compare it too. But maybe someone has one we can check it against

I also mocked up this jonsered 630 piston. Windowed, single ring and 48 mm. It was a shorter skirt. Piston pin to crown was exact, the good side is it would be more intake duration with just a piston swap. It was like 6 degrees more. Again it was several months ago. If you would like to mock this piston up, let me know.

Ok thanks. I’m still learning about duration and such in saws. But that’s why I’m here. TO LEARN and help were I can

My eyebrow raised when you said the J-Red piston had a shorter skirt! Sounds like that piston could play a significant part in building a strong 48mm 365! I would assume the J-Red piston is lighter too, which could also play well. How nice is instant +6 deg intake with zero grinding
