Filter showed up today, looks fantastic! Bruce @Gentleman thank you for allowing me to try this out. Much appreciated!!

I hope to get out and cut for a little while in the morning before things heat up.

Very cool that Bruce has made these available!

Not sure when they switched from the 268/262 filter to the HD set up. GUESSING they only used this set up the last 2-3 years of 272 production. But still, I hate telling guys the filter is NLA, and like Steve says, some of these saws are in dire need of a new one. The 272's still being built in Brazil use the early filter, which of course explains why the HD is not available. I think you can still get everything to convert a saw back to the old style, but that is a bit pricey.

The clamp is still available. The original 272 part number supersedes up to 588 775 501/502. Some of you guys might already have these around cause it's the 390/2188 intake boot clamp. :)

Trying to get a head count on how many HD elbows guys would be interested in.

Who would need one?

I just found this tread while searching for a used setup for my 272xp. I would like to get on board if I could with the parts. Thanks in advance mik44. I can be reached at toddmik44@gmail.com if needed.

I know I’ll be keen for a hd filter. I picked up a wrecked 268 to steal the filter off so I could still use my 272. Hope you’ll send to Australia ;)

I would say a clamp should be figured out, surely one from a manifold boot like maybe the 395 should work out. Not sure if the elbow adapter is going to be made or not, if so that's the three things needed to convert over this style of filtering system. The filter, clamp and adapter. The hardware to mount the adapter is the same on both systems.

I like the "40 to 1 only" tag I know some people that need that in LARGE print.
