Despite all the naysayers. Injection will be a huge improvement. Especially given most can't wrap their minds around tuning carbs...

I agree. The fuel filters may need to be made of unicorn hair though. It's going to take awhile for injection to trickle down.

My understanding (strictly from the posts I have read) is that the 462 (72 cc) would replace both the 441 + 461 (it is between them in size) and the MS 500 (79 cc) would be a new saw, sort of like a long lost 064 replacements!

Both the 462 and 500 seem like they will have president setting power for their weight.

The 461 is 76.5 cc's and the 441 was 70.7 cc's so the 462 replacement being at 72 makes sense as a replacement for both 461 and 441 as Stihl is trying to make their production line smaller. Only thing is is that the 441 is no longer So...technically the 462 is only replacing the 461 as already mentioned.
But this brings another question in my mind....the 500i. At only 80 CC where does the 91 cc 661 stand? If the 661 hangs around Stihl will have accomplished nothing....the line of the "big 3" will still be there....hence 441-461-661 and now 462-500i-661 if they don't come up with something else. Did I just make things worse?

I heard a rumor that the Stihl Team already trains with MS 500i for the world logging championships.
They used MS 440/460 all the time. I always wondered why the didn't use MS 461s.

I never meant to start a pissing contest.i was trying to share info i thought was valuble and would be benificial that i heard that i was willing to share for you guys.personally i dont see the 462 and 500 both in states as they are both 80cc saws.they are other saws in the east we dont have example 462 038 ms341 wich the 341 is an open port ms361 just to name a few.there also announced releasing the 462 at first of year in europe i believe if it hasnt been allready.there is no mention of that saw coming to the states at all.

441 was just halted production. Can't see any improvements in it from the previous version. They didn't change it like the 261 and 362

I guess but the 461 is carb and not mtron at all i guess we wait and see.i stated that i heard that one of them were goin bye bye from news i heard.and that wich one my buddy thought in my beginning post on this as of yesterday.
