here's my latest project, I picked it up as a non runner. Gee I wonder why? these seem to be fairly simple to work on. After I got the muffler cleaned out I stripped the carb and cleaned it, the diaphragms are a little stiff but I didn't have a kit on hand so back together it went. this has the weirdest intake and exhaust port locations I've ever seen. that carb is easy to get to, I had a problem with the linkage where it wouldn't go back to idle so I had to bend the linkage till it had full range of motion.

I finally got it all back together and man she sounds mean. I did mod the muffler some I just cut two more slits in the muffler trying to keep it stock looking. it's a 20 ft job for sure.

They do sound good for sure...keep an eye on hardware vibrating loose.

I'd be more worried about my fillings vibrating loose before hardware. This thing ain't gonna get used much by me. It was honestly on its way to being a wall hanger before I decided to look it over first.

Those things aren't fun to tune with the flood limiter. They also have an air intake limiter on the filter cover if it is anything like the super.

I have an old 041 as well. I don't use it much. Mostly look at it. But she does run quite well.

it needs 0.40 - 0.45 taken off the base the squish is to be desired on these

I got what he meant, and he is probably right, I wish it was a super av. Then I might actually be tempted to use it.
