Found these chunky fellows snoozing inside some punky wood during splitting chores.
Got 6 of em. Guess I'll sling them out around some structure and see what happens!!
Anybody know what type of grub this is?

Hmm...looks like some of the wood I didn't bust or burn last year has become a grub factory.
Got a dozen and still counting!!

Can't wait to fish with em...when I was young my brother and I would fish these off the bottom tight-line, and Channel Cats and huge Shellcrackers would flat wear them OUT!!

I use a lot of bloodworms around here. They kinda creep me out but not as bad as the eels in the fall.

I use em for bait for striped bass. I did have some on sushi once or twice but I wouldn’t fool with cleaning the nasty slime balls

Caught a few crappie a week ago. Big difference in appearance between a 10 1/2 inch crappie and a 13 1/4 one. Did a little spoonbilling yesterday. Nephew with the biggest, 36lb. Ended up with 5 boated.

Is that a state Fisheries tag Tony? We get some hatchery Salmon here that have the dorsal fin tags once in a while.

Yes. The tags are coded based on the lake or water system the fish are in. You are allow to harvest the fish if you want to. They want you to report them if you catch them for research purposes.
