The ported 90cc saws I do usually have 2 of these 1.5”openings and run extremely well, this ported 120cc saw has one, plus the factory opening is as big as its deflector will allow. I’m considering adding another opening ............

Stihl 462 with a stainless steel @Red97 small deflector spot welded on the front cover. Deflects well and noise is minimalized for the operator.

Is there a point of diminished capacity with these muff mods? Where you go so big that you lose powah? Is there an optimal size that you look for?

Generally with mufflers I haven’t found a point of diminishing results but I do think that there is a point where all you begin to gain is noise. Ymmv
