It's a beast. 75cc strato 2-stroke, running at 7500rpms. 908 tube cfm's. Any reason why I should'nt run the oil mix@40:1 like I do in my saws?? I figure a fair load is on the engine BUT the rpms are realitively slow. I think I'll start with the 2R@40:1.

Hey Joe I have the Husky version of that same blower and I agree that it's the best thing going in blowers today. The only thing is that they do not have adjustable carburetors. When I tried 40:1 I got excessive oil that pooled at the bottom of the air intake hose adjacent to the carb. It also drooled more oil than I like out of the muffler. At 50:1 there is just a few drops of oil that pool on bottom the air intake hose and negligible muffler drooling. I can't tell by ear that the engine sounds any different on 40:1 or 50:1.

A little side note is that a tachometer will work on my machine but it will not count any elapsed time on the two Tach/Hour meters that I've tried.

Congrats on getting an awesome blower.

I also have been looking at getting the Husky version of this blower, and wanted to run 40:1 like my saws. Will the excess oil end up affecting the performance over time or make it run not as efficiently as it could? I hate to have to carry and extra 50:1 can with it wherever I go, especially because I've heard they are thirsty buggers. @Joe Kidd mind giving a price of what you paid for it, just out of curiosity. Also do they sell a more narrow hose attachment for these, more for scouring stubborn leaves?

I really can't tell you a definitive answer about the oil ratio but if you don't mind some oil dripping and muffler drool you should be okay. I took a picture of the bottom of the air intake pipe where it meets the carb. At 50:1, there is oil dripping from the bottom of the pipe. It was about 2x as bad at 40:1.

As far as the fuel consumption, I get between around 80 to 90 minutes of run time on it's .686 gal tank. If you don't need the air volume and you want more speed and scouring ability order the 570 tip for the tube. It's part # 576 58 18-01. You didn't ask me specifically but I paid $570 out the door for my blower.

$570 seems to be the going rate for them. I think I may just get the 580 with the 570 tip. I'll probably run the 50:1 mix just to keep the mess minimal. Appreciate the input.

Same here, $569. I'm using 2R@40:1. I'll update later if I see a Dick Trickle. Thanks for the hose attachment P/N.

Some of these do have adjustable carbs. Post a pick of the back of a carb and I can point it out. If I hadn't picked up a running Shindaiwa EB802rt for $180, I would be thinking about these. I really want to see how they respond to a muffler mod. Did a mod on my 802 and it is running 7700k. I haven't pushed it to see what it can really do RPM wise, if I lean the carb out to keep it from four stroking.

Update. I've only ran 1/2 tank thus far. No visible carbon nor oil out of the muffler, shiny clean. This may be due to the SEF94. I can smell the 2R burning, but I smell it with pump gas too. Only an idle adjustment on the carb. WOT@6950 with a hot engine. I wish this thing had a foot stirrup to crank cold since there's no decomp. 75cc ain't no pansy.

576 58 18-01 $16.95 shipped from ebay.

What kind of oil? After two tanks I have no residue and the muff doesn't even show any carbon.

It's done it with every oil I've tried. In recent memory it's been Motul 710, Husky XP, Woodlandpro syn, Kawasaki K-Tech, No Smoke 2 Stroke Syn (exactly the same thing as Woodlandpro syn), and Supertech syn.

Looks like the same engine. Different carb perhaps? I can't explain the unburned oil. I've only removed the muffscreen and using the stock tube. With a 5yr warranty I'm reluctant to screw with the muffler.

Let me know how much better that tip scours than the larger opening stock tip.
Unfortunately the two tip openings are roughly the same size(3"), only .025" difference. While blowing I couldn't tell any difference. The 576 58 18-01 tip comes to an abruptly tapered end while the stock tip has a slight trumpet outlet flare. The new tip may have a little more concentrated center but I can't really tell. I believe a 2.5" discharge may give more velocity. BTW wot rpm's were the same with both tips.

Sorry it didn't work out for you but I appreciate the info.

I pulled the intake pipe and I found bunch of oil collected. You may want to check yours every once and while.
