That was one reason I wanted to get my 22-250, prairie dogginRuger #1 in 223 and an AR working over some prairie dogs in the southern Black Hills.

All looks good except the factory trigger spec. I would look into an upgrade.....i like Timney.
Agree with @Ronaldo
That build is already painful to the bank account, add the fancy trigger!
It’s gonna be a taco driver.
Autocorrect went with taco instead of tack. I’m leaving it!
What glass are you putting on it?
I like Timmey triggers too, I have a release on my model 12 trap.
Anyway, that’s the open turret I was talkin about earlier in the thread. Vortex Viper PST 6x24x50 ffp
It’s great glass, they really upped their game throughout the years and customer service is perfect.
Trap guns! That’s a whole other ball game of $$$$. Never jumped into that, have an old 1100 with a 28”
Barrel I have wanted to tray, but never make it out. Everyone always wants to play with the FA stuff.
Hand loads definitely help, what yardage Mike?Eat your hearts out guys, 1/2" 3 shot group with bone stock Ruger American Rifle ($300+) w/Nikon 3 X 9 BDC Scope ($99) and neck sized hand loads. (It has shot 5/16" w/Nosler), but I prefer the Barnes for hunting.
Can't beat the bang for the buck!
Just sighted in the scope this morning.
(Caution: That is a hot load)
Loading it just like an AI100 yds.
Hand loading makes a huge difference in this gun (if you neck size only). The chamber must be a bit large. When I neck size only 1 less round fits in the clip!
Accuracy goes up by a bunch!
I'll bet if I fed it factory ammo I would not be impressed with it at all!
Not sure that they scaled it or if they even had a way to.That's quite a hefty muke deer! What did it dress out at?
