These are very cool saws, I never really looked at them. I almost read this whole thread the last few days. I think a 262 would be my first choice if I were to get a 2 series followed by a 288.

I've had a good number out of the 2 series a couple summers ago when I wanted to learn about them. They are really cool saws even though I prefer the 3 series I wouldn't mind building a few more 2's back into the rotation. My very first 2 series was an unfired 288XP .
Here's the only "2" I have right now.
