Hey guys,

I just sold my stihl 362c…. Hated the way it balanced and felt (like a fat pig) just felt awkward using it.
So now I’m looking at 4 saws echo 590, husqvarna 550mk,555xp, or 562xp. Most likely 18 inch bar. I have a stihl 500i for the big stuff and stihl 261c/echo 2511t for the small stuff. So I need my most of the time saw for felling and bucking.

The 550 felt good but I think it’s too close to my 261c. The 555, 562, 590 felt pretty much the same.

Just need some opinions.

In my opinion the 590 is the best value of any 60cc saw made. The 562 would be the fastest and most fun saw on your list.

Wish my dealer had mkII’s in stock. Has no clue when there coming. Just 1st gens
Maybe he can order you one, they’re available. 562mk2 is a sweet saw. I hate the new stihls, 400 on the bench currently. 562 saw some great upgrades and is a good runner out of the box, very happy with the one I’ve had hands on.

Yah my brand new 261c has idling and serious bog/stalling issues at the shop now. Who knows when I’ll see it.

Just curious, how many tanks do you have through it?

Edit: I stand corrected!

The upgrades sound good, but the crank stuffers still seem to be one of the factors leading to failures compared to the "detuned" "Professional" series saws.
The MKII does not have stuffers.

I have all of 1 5-series Husky, and that's a 562 I got basically for free with ~2 hours on it. According to my brother it had a little bog while limbing, the shop replaced the coil and flywheel before discovering it had a valve in the carb that was sticking. Once that was fixed it's been almost 4 years without any issues. I'd highly recommend one of those saws. I know jack-diddly about Mark II variants, but my 2019 Mark I has been nothing but reliable.
