While I was at it I had a little photo shoot of all the 70cc saws I have.

What's the weight of the 462 and 044?

I would take the M Tron version, I like how my M Tron saws run.

I think the 462 will be a bit lighter than most 044s, and have more CCs, S/B quite a saw! I think the 462 is 13.2 lbs, just a little heavier than a 362 Ver I or a 562 (both about 13 lbs).

The MS 500i is also supposed to be under 14 lbs, and 80 CC, kinda reminds me of an 064 with fuel injection!

I read the ms500 is scheduled for release in the U.K. in 2019.

Mike, I think I'll wait for the lightweight fuel injection 80cc ms500 rather than the 462. But I might be waiting a while.

It will be very interesting to see how the two compare, hard to beat the power to weight of either.

The weight + size of the 462 should make it a great all around saw, and the 500 may put a hurtin on the Dolmar and Husky counterparts in the 70 cc range.

I sure as hell hope a 80cc FI saw puts a hurtin on a 70cc saw.

This makes me wonder if dolmar is quietly working on a Reed valve 7900 replacement. And when Stihl and husky are bickering over their new 70cc saws dolmar gonna go BOOM! Here's a 14 lb 79cc Reed valve torque monster with tunable carb!

Too bad it will be stamped Makita on the side. Sad to see Dolmar go away.
