Today I put a MF air filter on and retuned the carb. I will admit that I'm not great at at hearing the 4-stroke at WOT. Here's a little video of starting around 14.2K WOT and progressively turning the H jet screw i at about 1/8 turn increments up to about 15.2 K rpm. To me, it sounds like it's still 4-stroking even at the highest rpms. Maybe the last 2 runs start to sound lean? What say you all? P.S. for now I just set the H jet so it's at 14.4K per the Randy
's advice.

I have an exceptional 461 ported however not by MMWS. She will four stroke into 15k but I hold it back at 14,500 and pull the handle more than ever in the cut. There is a relationship between torque and sub-fourstroking. Has to do with the amount of oil in excess at lower four stroking rpms.

Sold on 14,500 and four stroking here with a ported engine.

The top Edge isn’t where the power is in my opinion.

I prefer a MS461R for 32” & less wood at around 13.8-14k.

Won’t pull a 33” though. [emoji849]

For a GTG cutting a few cants snd having some fun I think it is ok to turn the wick up a bit. But I concur with Heath. Cutting big rounds, the saws make more power running a little richer. 14 to 14300 or so is best.
These saws are pretty strong runners for sure. Your saw sounds real good.

You have a ported 461 now?
