Do a little digging, I see this model doesn't carry an ignitor module, just two coils.

Thanks. I will clean the carb as a general maintenance issue to see if that solves it.

These kawis are good motors

I've got two from the 80's, real good engines, a 9hp and a 12.5hp. I had removed the 9hp and and installed the 12.5 for more power in a JD RER. Just had to change out the wiring harness and build a relay harness for the starter motor. Safety switches had gotten where it wouldn't carry the voltage for the starter to work, but the switches still work.

Thing that gets me is it ran fine for first 2 cuts. If this was the first time starting for the year, I could understand better. But it sputtered to a stop and won't run. Weird.

Sounds like the Husqvarnas split boom brush cutters it went through in 2 months time. Coil went out on one with three hours use. 2nd one ran some what 30 minutes and died,(Carb issues and couldn't be adjusted out for it to run), the one I've got now has a hour on it so far.

Can't remember what engine it was (kohler or briggs) but it ran all crazy and intermittently and turned out to be magnets loose on flywheel...
Spark, fuel, compression... YUP!
Fourth thing is TIMED ignition.

Some"times" it was correct and would run properly.... Lol

Lol. Yup. I woke up out of a dead sleep this morning at 5am. Had an epiphany that it was the fuel shutoff valve. Engine started on first pull.
