His crews do not back them off when reinstalling the bars and just tighten the bar nuts. It eats the edge off the adjuster tang and bends the bolts... ruins them.

This would seem to me to be the ultimate kind of frustration that I would never want to experience at work!
Loosen your adjusters today, the best anger management you'll ever not pay for...

When using 518 don’t delay tightening things down once the parts are mated. It’s an anaerobic sealant that cures quickly by removing oxygen. I used it on an outboard boat motor crank case once and because I didn’t tighten things up fast enough it cured and acted as a shim that wouldn’t allow the case to come together properly. It was my mistake, just an FYI about using it. It is great stuff when used properly.
