@Definitive Dave I inquired about a Cannon bar a while back and got no reply... Some sort of preorder deal so you would know how many to order... did anything ever come of that?

It kinda looks like they forged the insert right into the bar. There are no fasteners. The only other way would be the split in the back, and they slip the insert into a location grove. But then there is no support web, so I dont know.

I saw the prototypes today at the Oregon logging conference. They felt pretty light, definitely way better than a regular super bar. They were pretty stiff which was nice. They have 2 prototypes out and they said they will probably go with the skinnier insert one (pictured below). They said they will offer them down to 20” and want them to be on the market by this summer.

Epoxy. The Oregon bars use it as well as a rivet.

I'm sorry to hear that they are leaning towards the skinny insert model. Not only is it visually less attractive, but the size of the insert being smaller more than likely means less weight savings.

I agree with you, needs the bigger insert and to be lighter.

I expected them to be heavier than a stihl or oregon light bar but I'm sure they'll be more rigid than the blue oregon light bars that first came out. I had one of the first 32" when they came out and barely got to use it by the time the inserts popped.

I had to add new rivets after mine popped and resurface it.
