You could have bought a new Stihl MS441c-m for a grand or so. Yes, it's heavy. Some guys like that weight. Just hold it in place and let it buck cut to high heaven with a 24"+ bar. To each his own.

I'm not exactly sure why anyone would buy a new 441c when the 462c is around...

I guess to each their own.

I wore out a 2171 and replaced it with a 462. I have to admit it’s a worthy replacement. Recently found a super clean stock 2171 and now I take both to the woods set up with 24” bars. Run one out of gas and then grab the other. Always grab the Jonsered first for some reason though.

Another vote for a 261CM. Capable in stock form, responds well to light mods, little rippas with full mods. The 026 is definitely a smaller package but gives up a lot in performance to the 261

Maybe to save $140. I got mine for practically nothing as a non-runner and rebuilt the engine for $100 and 12 hours of my labor, which is about $60 an hour less than the dealer's. It runs fine now, but a 462c would probably eat its lunch.

The only saw I regret sending down the road is a 441c.

I bought it on here, threw a new tank handle assy and new plastic on it and ran the heck out of it. Traded it for a super clean 360 Pro and sugihara bar to another Oklahoma member on here or AS (can't remember which site) and have regretted it ever since. I got a sweet 360 Pro out of the deal, but I miss that 441c.

I'd grab another one if it was mint or new. I've even been thinking about ordering a new 441c from my dealer. He says he can still get a new one for me.

I never understood the 441c hate on here. Mine was a ripper.
