Came across a really nice 242 today. I had planned to resell it but may end up keeping it. What do you guys think, is it nice enough that I should put it on a shelf?

Assuming it was manufactured in week 17 of 1989, anyone confirm?

You should get that saw out and run it. Find the tune, sharp chain and appreciate what that saw offered at that time. Sure time has evolved, but you have something that is worth experiencing. Maybe you won't like it, that's cool. But I'm willing to bet if used right, you will enjoy it.

I was a little surprised when I reviewed the specs on acres. He suggests the factory limit was 15,500, should be fun to run. That being said, I'm not sure I want to use it for what it was designed for. It's awful clean to be limbing downed trees

Do as you wish. I don't buy the 15.5 hoopla. It is more than a limbing saw if that is what you read. Dang Internet! Sell it and make money if you will. If you don't appreciate it, get rid of. Does that answer you questions?

I wish someone was this passionate about Mini-Macs. I could make a lot of money.
