Has the 661 been proven like the 066/660?

My 046 with the standard oiler was stingier than I’d like with a 28” 7 pin in maple. 25” was fine with a 7 pin, but not as good with a 8. 461 is the same (same oiler). If I were to buy one again, I’d fit the ho oiler first thing. Just being honest from my experience.

Mike: I drilled out all my bars to almost double the size. I realize they are adjustable oilers. Mine are all turned up.
One can also mod the pump to pump more oil. Or buy the HO oiler. Not sure on the fact that if you mod the regular oiler if the screw on the bottom works after the mod. The adjusting screw may have no effect after the mod. But I am not sure. Maybe someone who has more knowledge can step in.

I have never modded an Oiler, I have milled with 044, 441, 046/460 and 066/660. I've done a good amount of milling with both my 066 and Asian 660s, w/36" bars, in Oak and Hickory, and I can't remember the last time I burned up a bar.

Keep your chains sharp, and your head on straight, and you will be alright. There is nothing tougher on a B+C than milling hardwood.

Done correctly, the screw will still work. I suppose if done incorrectly, the screw could have no effect on output

The pics are in the thread I did. If a guy was to grind the concentric pin on the control bolt to where it was round, rather than like a cam, it would no longer adjust. It would be at max all the time
