Has the 661 been proven like the 066/660?

I do have one 6.4 oz bottle of Stihl 2-cycle engine oil left. It's empty. I use that to measure out my next dump of another fuel mix brand into an empty 2.2-gallon gas can that's sold by the quart. Then I add the gasoline at the pump to fill the gas can. Works every time.

Well boys wont be long now I ordered a max air filter and some other whatnot's for a saw I don't have ....yet. Will be getting the saw with in the next couple of days.
Next thing to do is punch in the oiler pin. Before I did that to this one oiling was meh. After doing it it oiled as good or better than my 385.

I will only be running a 28" bar for the most part will I still need to push it in?
It’s very easy to do, look near the adjustment screw, you’ll see a pin next to it. Punch it in flush by tapping on it with a suitable punch or screwdriver using a hammer gently. It simply allows you to turn the screw out roughly 1/8 turn more. Which does make a noticeable difference imho. Just watch the oil tank to make sure it doesn’t run dry before gas. You can compensate by adding slightly less gas.

No worries on oil running out first if both tanks are full.

Not sure if they are available for it, but I prefer the Stihl Winter Filters. Currently running them on several saws (044 - 660)
I just repaired a 046 recently that had a “metal” mesh filter. Fines caked in the intake. I replaced it with a knockoff paper filter. I’d go max flo for work and use the metal filter for a gtg setup, but that’s my personal preference.

Jeff, the 440s and 460s don't need a pin punched, you can adjust the oilers from the bottom with a very small (like tuning) screw driver. It only moves about 1/3 of a turn. Clockwise is all the way up. 440s are rated for a 28" bar, 460s for a 36".

If you have any Stihl ES Light bars, I drill the oil hole in them (1/8"), that is the sticking point with them.
