What is your easiest most reliably starting saw?
I went out today at 18 deg. and went to use my 6100. it has sat for at least a month.
Primed it 3 times flipped the choke up and pulled 3 times and she was running. the rest of the day was just a short pull and running. I have had some good starting saws as well as some bad. but this thing still takes the cake.

I've heard that about the 6100... need to try one out. Best starter I had was a Jonny 2159.

The 545 and 555 are autotune, and they don't like to start if they sit more than a week or so.

Going on a limb here: I have several Stihls that will start on one pull. Period. The least of the bunch but my best saw needs the throttle pumped a few trigger pulls before cranking. But I've never had a pro Stihl that won't pop on and run on the first crank at least most of the time. The funny thing is they tend to be a little more temperamental than that hot. Now I'm not selling you a Stihl but that has been my experience. Had several two-stroke Yamaha Enduros and Honda MX'r that would fire up same way.

I have three saws. One Jonsereds, one Huqvarna and one Dolmar and they all start quick and easy. Have Stihl weed whip and blower and they are also quick and easy to start. I agree with you it is a nice perk.

My 346 was starting on one pull thanks to a hole I drilled in the tank under the gutted tank vent. That was in any weather.I plugged the hole because it will flood after starting it warm after running it.Now it starts normal:cbiggrin2:

My best starting saw is my 395. Best starting Ope is my fs110r. It can sit all winter and it will fire up first or second pull everytime
I have never had a good starting weed eater/ weed whip/ brush cutter. this spring I will be getting an echo and see if that fixes that.

The 110 has always been great. Never had to pull it more than 3 times

Can't say that I have trouble starting any saws in my collection, but the Dolmars and Echo's start easiest.

To me, a great starting saw has little to do with how few pulls it takes to start but rather how reliably it starts day in and day out.

For me that would be my 660. Takes 3 pulls on full choke. 2 pulls on fast idle. Starts first time every time when warm. My 361 will do the same but will get a bit ignorant when warm and will take a few more sometimes.

Today when it was 25 this morning, went for the 660 instead of the 361 to get some early morning trimming done.
