Don't blame you a bit, I only go over to cruise the classifieds occasionally.

Different strokes, for different folks.

(Besides, you don't have to choose if you are a real chain geek. )

Philbert
Yep, i own the both a grinder and granberg(can get a GREAT cutter profile with it!!!)....I guess I should have said they seem to close in operation to deem such a higher price, but as you said different strokes!!!!!

Yes, the grinders have ALOT of quirks to figure out before you can get a good cutting edge....i used to be on the hand-filing only team.... decided hell with it, I want to see what these grinders are about...well I couldn't be happier(and let me say I Looked HARD to find a fault with it!!!)...have angles, stone profiles, zeroing the vise, and depth adjustment to figure out just to name a few....but when all the stars align, you can turn out a proper chain in fairly quick time!!!!!

nice, I will dive into the hand-square filing soon enough.... this darn grinder has been keeping my chain sharpening bug at bay for now....man I like how easy it is to clean gullets in a grinder!!!!!

How is the square filing going for you????
