I asked this question on AS but never got a response so I will ask you guys. I fired up the 6100 and felt something hit my foot. I looked down and saw the oiler adjusting screw lying on the ground. Is there a way to repair this or do I have to replace the whole oil pump. Thank you.[IMG]

Looks like the cross pin in the shaft is messed up. Can you tap it out and replace with a small roll pin. Looks like the pump was used on a bunch of small dolmars

Here is a shot of the pump....looks like the pin has just moved or sheared allowing the adjuster to fall away. You at least seem to have the spring so worth a go I would say.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it looked like a pin broken off on both ends but I wasn't sure. I've had this saw 3 years but only put 5or 6 tanks through it. It has never oiled like I thought it should. It would just sling of a very fine mist with it turned up all the way. I didn't know if it messed up any inside the pump or how long the pin should be.

Thanks. It looks like I'm going to have to remove the pump to see if it can be fixed. So I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and order one and replace it since it never oiled that good anyway. It may have been a bad pump from the factory. The cheapest I have found one is $25. That seems a bit steep to me but I never bought but one oil pump before and it was Chinese after market for a Husqvarna.

You may want to check the drive gear too. It could be stripped if the oiler gear wasn't held in place by the adjuster.

I'd replace the pump and look into fixing the used one.

I don't like fixing something twice, I replace with new and I'm done with it.
At the end of the day my time has some value as well and I can't hardly charge an hourly rate to myself.

Poor oiling is not normal for the ps-6100 if the pump/drive and the oil supply is all ok.
As has been said by others , removal is best anyhow to look at what you have plus for any damage.
$25.00 for a "genuine part" seems cheep to me here in UK as you pay way less in general for saws and parts in the US than we do.
Here is a part of a IPL to show the components of the pump and drive.

How much would this saw have cost in the UK? I bought it new in 2016 for $596 out the door.

Not sure at the moment.....The price can fluctuate with the Euro to Sterling rate. The Red Dolmar saws have to come from Germany to the UK but we can get the Makita Ea 6100 in blue and black from the dealer network.
"JUST AS A GUIDE" .... The ea 6100 at best I know of at the moment is around £600.00 Sterling ...at $1.30 to £1.00 today you would need $780.00 plus any shipping as a comparison.

I'd get a new oil pump assembly for $25. That cheap considering the damage that would ensue from a smoking hot bar taking out seals and creating a massive air leak. Probably would of been a warranty fix if the saw had been ran more in the first year of ownership.

Yeah, I should have taken it back after I first got it and had them check the oiler. It was oiling but not very much. But too late now. I will order the oiler. It's a great running saw, I just don't get the opportunity to run it much.

It felt like a lot to me. The 6100 felt like a dog to me stock.

OK, my apologies, I did not know that.

    I have my MMWS6100 since the 16.04.2019.
Started her twice without the bar mounted.
Mounted the bar once for taking some pictures.
She'll get the chance to prove herself, this year I have place an order for two truckloads of firewood logs instead of one.
