Pawn shop guy called me
He had a 291 lock up while a customer
Was trying to start it, cylinder
Heavily scored and the bearings
Feel rough turning it over
I think it's a lost cause

I didnt see a good pic if the piston. Is it scored that bad? Could make a runner for bearings seals and a piston.

The piston is deeply scored, brown , muddy looking, the bearings really rough, it locks up every couple turns
And you have to wiggle the flywheel to get it loose. I found a motor for 230
The pawn guy won't spend that.

The rest of the saw is nice

Cylinder Kit (non strato) 1141 020 1206................$242.49
Cylinder Kit (strato) 1141 020 1201........................$242.49
Crank Bearings 9523 003 4301..............................$25.99 ea
Pin Bearing 9512 003 2333....................................$8.49
PTO Seal 9639 951 1584.........................................$5.49
FW Seal 9638 003 1581..........................................$16.99

When replacing oil seals, note that a soft oil seal (1) must be installed at the ignition side and a hard oil seal (2) on the clutch side. Install the soft oil seal with the support ring facing outwards and the hard oil seal with its sealing lip facing the crankshaft. It is not necessary to disassemble the engine to replace the oil seals.

Thanks for the list, and info.

I thought you had a test log for the pawn shop guy so he wouldn't get stuck with these saws.

I remember a while back @Gentleman was looking for one of these cyclinders. Bruce did you ever find one? What was the plan with it?
