So I have some experience with reverse image searches, websites that take a picture and look for other copies of the same image around the internet. First I had to see if the algorithm was any good for chainsaws, because I've only seen it used much with people. So I'll show first what two sites (https://www.tineye.com/ andhttps://images.google.com/imghp?hl=en&gws_rd=ssl show for a known scammer. Then I'll show some pics of one that seems more credible for sale now, but doesn't have a lot of posts. Images hosted on the site have to be downloaded and then uploaded into the image searches. I wonder if site admin could allow those sites to see pictures hosted on the site.
Tineye found the image on a Russian mirror of eBay. No hits from the google search, but it does recognize it as a chainsaw. Second pic from the listing takes us to the same Russian website. Again no hits from the Google engine.
The third pic goes to the same site, not sure why it is only finding the images on this Russian ebay compiling site.
Well I was expecting it to be a bit better, but one of the sites (TinEye) DID find the listing that the images in our scam thread were taken from. Next post I will post the results from another seller who posted a saw with zero posts, but has a good story.
