Looks great Lee, Mac yellow as you know is tuff, I have seen about 4 completely different yellows from nos packages! Seems like the old yellow was lighter and the later 70’s yellow was darker

Ya I have seen a few different colors as well and I think your on with
the earlier saws as a lighter yellow. I noticed that way back when I was
restoring a few 797's.

Very nice Lee - is that an iron-liner cylinder? The fin arrangement makes it look like an early cylinder but of course with McCulloch, you can never tell.

This is a chrome bore Jacob, That's why I used the original piston that was in great shape. If it were
and iron bore I would have had it bored to true the bore.

This paint business I've found that OHSA safety yellow is about as close as I've found .The 105 in the picture I only painted the recoil and the muffler cover and it matched the 40 year old paint that was never in the sunlight very long evidently .The saw sat for decades in a shop in Wisconsin because of a broken recoil which is what saved the paint ..http://acresinternet.com/cscc.nsf/e...1276be55dea63f0988256c2e0077ba1b?OpenDocument
