Advice on a new chain grinder

CBN is man made diamond. it is the compound that varies vs a wheel listed as diamond. I use a lot of diamond and cbn/ boroazon wheels in my shop. Most of my wheels come from Eagle abrasives. they do not make chain saw wheels as a stock item, could be ordered custom.

I have 10 of them , got them from a retired stihl
shop foreman for vancouver parks
the wheels are made by LM sharpening wheels inc
in the USA Toll free # is 1-877-871-9867
I just called him to confirm he,s still in buisiness
and he told me that his grit is 50
I have not worn a wheel out in 10 years!

This shop produces cbn wheels for all machines, !

Has anyone looked into having a custom diamond wheel made for square grinding? I know it’s been asked before at times and the answer always is that nothing is currently built but I think it would be worth the price for a custom wheel to never have to dress it.

I’ve had a cheap Timber Tuff grinder and a wheel from Diamond wheel for 8 years. They both have suited me fine. Ground a lot of chain with it. Chains are sharp and cut well, not much more to ask of it really.

The best thing to do is shape your wheel the way you want it and send it to them and copy

I built this raker wheel in a larger diameter than what Stihl sends so I didn’t have to do as much adjusting down that was getting in th way of my vacuum system
