Looked like a nice saw not trying to diss it but anyone else think it looks kinda big and I wasn't that impressed with the power it ran good probably will be a great saw but I didn't see anything mind blowing power wise for all that fancy new technology being bragged about. For probably the same or less money I will have a MMWS 7910

I found out it has a similar filter setup to a 661. Why would they do that and equip the 462 with air injection?
my guess is they have been at this saw a while to develop that fuel system and make sure its all dialed in so its really an older design than the 462 even though were seeing its release after the 462

Fuel injection will have its benefits for sure, but its only one component in the small 2 stroke. I can't see big power increases with FI by itself, folks should keep their expectations realistic. I personally like the fact MT has a successful replacement and will hopefully disappear.

I think fuel injection is a better way to go than electronically adjusted carbs glad stihl is bringing the technology out hopefully they can keep costs reasonable as it becomes more common and keep a simple system that proves durable and reliable

If it is the same system as the TS500i it is pretty rock solid. The issues I see with the TS500i system is mainly due to it's enviroment.... and those issues are few and far between. My crews LOVE the TS500i vs the TS420.

Looks good to my eye. Can't help but notice it's overall shape resembling the newer 5xx Huskies...at least as much as I could tell from the vid. Is Stihl laying the cylinder back on their new models like Husky has been doing??

Definitely cool to see a successful FI system on a saw! Is it DI??

What's the displacement of the 500i??

Thanks for that DND.

So it's basically TBI. As far as I'm aware, not a huge jump up from carbed, certainly a step though. But, I'm certain electronic DI will be a reality before too much longer, my guess is within ten years
